About me

My story

I was 43, tired, depressed, bloated, low libido, tinnitus… I had a busy life, busy job and myself and my husband were navigating the early days of adoption. But just like a lot of women I just put up with it accepting it as ‘my normal’. Until I went to the doctor who diagnosed me as perimenopausal and prescribed me anti-depressants – I took the prescription but didn’t take the meds. Instead I saw a nutritional therapist and within 6 weeks I felt like a different person, for me it was life-changing…

I radically decided to give up my 25 year design career and step out of my own business to retrain over three years as a nutritional therapist, to help other women like me feel better too. I wish I had know then what I did now so I could have helped support myself with years of endometriosis (I didn‘t know I had) and subsequent infertility issues…

I am now 49 with a very supportive husband, a 12 year old daughter and Ember the black lab. I’m still perimenopausal and I manage my symptoms with nutrition, supplements and lifestyle. Most of the time I feel great but I’m certainly not nailing it by any means – every now and again a different symptom rears its head and I can feel a bit rubbish, so I need to re-adjust things, but I know every change I make is not only symptom management but also benefits my long-term health and is working towards keeping me healthier for longer.

and so it continues...

A few years ago a good friend was told her breast cancer had returned. Metastatic cancer is incurable. I felt compelled to help in whatever way I could, so I completed extra specialist integrative oncology training to enable me to safely see patients undergoing conventional treatment. I supported her where I could with her wellbeing, quality of life and treatment side effects in her last few months and I promised her I’d continue to help other women who needed the same support where I could.

The body is a truly magnificent thing that we take for granted. It’s only when we ourselves or someone close to us are ill we realise it. Our body is forever working to keep us in balance and to heal – my aim is to help you give it the right tools to do so.

Things I love

I love food, but learning to enjoy cooking has been a slow process.

I love exercise and trained many years ago in Sydney, Australia to be a PT. Whilst I loved boxing and spinning, I’m now embracing mindful running and weight-based exercises. I’ve never lost my love of yoga.

I love travelling and have been lucky enough to see a lot of the world. Although I’m ready to get back in the travel saddle to explore more. Working or holding a women’s wellbeing retreat in Ibiza has always been a dream of mine…

And have I already said I love house music and dancing?

I love energetic practices such as reiki, sound baths, cacao and trained to become a certified reiki practitioner.

I love my family, being a mum, my friends, my shadow (dog) and a good occasional gin & tonic.
